Whether on a home printer or at a convenience store, here is how to print coloring pages crisp and clean, from choosing paper to A4 settings and borderless printing.

A coloring page deserves crisp lines and paper that is pleasant to color on. A little preparation makes a big difference to the result.
Before printing, check the on-screen preview to confirm the picture fits the page and the lines are not faint. That small step prevents most wasted prints.
Choosing Paper
The best paper for coloring is white and slightly thick. Thin copy paper tends to wrinkle under the pressure of colored pencils or crayons, and markers can bleed through to the other side.
- When in doubt, pick a "premium" paper a bit thicker than ordinary copy paper
- For markers, choose a heavier weight (around 90 gsm) that resists bleed-through
- Avoid glossy photo paper, since colored pencils do not grip well on it
- For little ones, inexpensive paper is fine even if it wrinkles a little
Printer Settings
Use A4 as your standard paper size. Printing at "actual size" or "100%" outputs the picture at the intended dimensions. Choosing "fit to page" scales it automatically and can make the lines thinner.
For line-art coloring pages, "black and white (grayscale)" is plenty and saves ink. If you want darker lines, raise the print quality to "high" or "best".

- Quality: standard to high (when you want crisp lines)
Printing Without Borders
When you want the picture as large as possible, borderless printing is handy. Tick the "borderless" option in your printer settings to print without margins.
Keep in mind that borderless printing may trim the very edges. If details near the edge matter, it is safer to leave the standard margins on.
Printing at a Convenience Store
No printer at home? You can still print at a convenience store multi-copier. Save the coloring image to your phone, upload it through the store network-print app, and enter the reservation number at the machine.
Black-and-white prints are inexpensive per page. Select A4 and check the paper size and scale, and it will come out just as cleanly as a home print.
